About Us
The Marysville Rye Senior Center was started in 1968 under the vision of Reverend Watson Grove; the first gatherings took place in the United Methodist Church of Marysville. It was a simple beginning —a warm room, a welcoming spirit, and a “club” unlike anything else in the county. Upwards of a hundred people would come, drawn by fellowship, food, and the feeling of belonging. As the dream grew, so did the need for space. The Center moved to the Knights of Pythias building, and later, in the late 1990s, through grants, grit, and the faithful work of many hands, a new building rose — a home built not just with lumber and nails, but with love and perseverance. Now over 55 years since the dream turned into reality, we stand firm to offer a central hub for our community to receive fellowship, meals, education and health assistance.
